On the Mend
throwing up all night long. Daddy took care of her most of the night
and got no sleep at all. Mommy went in for an hour or so from 4-5:00am
until Elora cried. Delenn was feverish, dry heaved and was obviously
sick all day today. Luckily she slept for most of the afternoon. This
evening, she asked for a bit of chicken and biscuit and ran around the
back yard with Logan. She seems much more energetic and is hopefully on
the mend now.
Logan enjoyed tennis camp again today. He did mention, though, that it
was long. Yesterday he asked Daddy why he had to be there from morning
til night (8:00am-10:30am!!).
I was pretty impressed with the reader that Logan chose today. It was a
"Scooby Doo Phonics reader" but listen to some of what he read: "...Two
ghosts came up behind Shaggy. "Boo!" said the ghosts. Shaggy and
Scooby jumped. "Zoinks!" Shaggy yelled. The ghosts held out their
bags. "Get those haunted bags away from me!" Shaggy yelled." ... Logan
still cannot read on his own because he stumbles over words, but not the
words you'd expect. For example, he stumbled over "bags" and "away" in
the sentences above. Still, he's really moving along, isn't he?!
Elora is our scooter girl. She crawls and scoots ALL over the place.
Today for some reason she did laps between where Mommy was standing (at
the sink) and the dining room three times. Perhaps she was brave enough
to move out of the room, but needed to hurry back to make sure I was
still there. She really zooms along now and comes crawling after me if
she didn't want to be set down.
Both Logan and Delenn are great with Elora. Logan can really make Elora
laugh hard. (Let me tell you, that's a WONDERFUL skill when she's
screaming her head off in the car!!) Logan often sits down to play with
her and is really very sweet with her. Delenn and Elora will play
together now too. Delenn will hand Elora things and direct their play
together. Unfortunately, Elora has this thing about Delenn's hair. She
likes to reach over and pull her hair (Delenn will often come and lay
down right near Elora). The thing is, Elora does it on purpose -- maybe
just to hear Delenn scream and holler. Hope this isn't a glimmer of
their future relationship! It's great to see Elora emerging as a
playful member of the DingoPack.
