Summer is here in force and so are the flies
Sunday was a blast, a HEAT blast! Grams, Mom, Dad, and Logan went out
for a nice walk around the block and to the park, but little did we know
we'd be infested with flies and a sun blast. This was the first time
that Logan really put up a fuss about the flies but he still enjoyed
playing on the playground and wanted more after finishing at one park.
So Grams and Dad took Logan off to the larger playground for some more
action while Mom went home to rest. At the playground Logan
successfully managed the swing for the first time without killing
himself by leaping off. Some of the metal playground equipment was
scorching hot and Logan wailed at its touch. It didn't take him long to
figure out where the cooler places would be to grab a hold of. We were
pretty well wiped out by the time we got home and made for a quick lunch
and nap for all. Perhaps because of Logan's cold he was not so willing
to listen and obey his old man, but eventually he was knocked out cold
from being overtired after several books, including his current
favorites of "Spongebob Squarepants Sing-A-Long", "a FireTruck pop-up
type book", and "Green Eggs and Ham". The rest of the afternoon was
low-key, however, one point of note was that we found the week-long-lost
Fire Chief's Truck that is one of Logan's favorite matchbox cars. At
dinner Grams made a great chicken casserole dish and Logan surprised
everyone by asking us to 'Be Thankful' which is our normal night-time
'prayer' family tradition.
Monday Grams, Mom, and Logan went for a walk and then headed out to the
Town Pool where they soaked up the sun and enjoyed playing Humpty Dumpty
by jumping off from the side of the pool. Mom fed Logan lunch at the
pool in the hopes that he'd go down easy back home, but this wasn't to
be and it took a bit longer than expected. Games and arts and crafts
were the main activities of the afternoon and Dad played his normal
games with Logan (chasing Logan, swinging him, dancing, airplane
rides...) when he arrived home from work. We all have often been
dancing to the BooBah singing and dancing music 'creature' that Auntie
Wendy sent Logan!
