Logan's first independent phone call
This morning Mom wanted to take a quick shower, but Logan didn't want
to. Instead he wanted to take a bath. So while Mom was in the shower,
she watched him closely to be sure Logan didn't get himself into too
much trouble. Well, wouldn't you know it, Logan started raising his
leg up to try to heave himself over into the bathtub. It seemed as
though Mom was going to have to get out and get him out of a potentially
dangerous situation. But wait, no. Suddenly Logan had a startled and
surprised look on his face. His leg stopped abruptly and came back down
nicely next to the other one. Then he bolted out the bathroom like a
kid on steroids. What kind of brain wave patterns could have been
created like that to cause such a frenzy? Mom had to find out, if
nothing else to be sure Logan wasn't getting into any sort of mischief
(not our angel child). In about two or so minutes Mom was able to towel
off and make her way out towards the living room. Lo and behold what
did she find... her Son sitting and chatting up a storm on the telephone
that's what !? Mommy managed to commandeer the telephone handset from
little prying piggie fingers and in her most cordial, yet confused
manner, timidly said, "Hello?" It would have been one thing to have a
normal caller like one of Logan's friends' Mom on the phone, but no.
It was a rare caller, a prominent lawyer in town, who also happens to be
the clarinet player in Liesl's Alexandria Quartet woodwind ensemble
group (incidentally, he has no kids). Russell told Mom that he had been
having a very pleasant phone conversation with Logan and that he was
surprised at how well he pronounced words like Pteradactyl. Guess it
must've been some kind of conversation!
