Dark Places
Daddy got up with Logan and took him to the tourist favorite and award
winning Desert Park, a place filled with bird aviaries, some kangaroos
and emus, and a Nocturnal House with lizards, frogs, snakes, and other
nocturnally alert mammals and marsupials such as the bilby, various
wallabies, etc... Logan seems to be more and more scared of the dark,
and barely could stand letting us be in there for very much time at
all. Only when he saw an animal move did he stop for a moment to become
fascinated and chuckle in excitement, but immediately thereafter he
would grab Daddy's pant's leg and yank on it to return to the light of
the outside, screaming like a banshee whenever Dad attempted to show him
something else. At home at night, when time for bed, Mom and Dad have
been keeping Logan from running away from them by turning out all the
lights throughout the flat with only the bedroom light remaining on.
Because he's too afraid to go into the dark, it's like a built in simple
fence that works quite well!
Also at the Desert Park Logan enjoyed trying to balance on every bridge
ledge that we passed, something Dad wasn't too thrilled with, but was
willing to allow since it would hopefully improve his coordination
abilities. So of course Daddy held on to his hand to keep Logan from
doing too much damage to himself. Luckily the bridges were only about
1-2 feet above the ground, so it was doubtful a fatality was in the
making. Back at home, Logan was being very possessive, wanting Mom to
get up off 'his' ottoman. When Momma moved, she ended up having to sit
on Daddy's lap. This didn't last long though because Logan was right
there to scold Momma to get off Daddy's lap because it is 'HIS' Daddy,
saying in shouting words repeatedly "NO, My Daddy!" Needless to say, a
riled up Logan made it hard for Mom to get him down for a nap.
