House whining and bike riding
This morning, the family went out to look at a house that looked quite
keen in the real estate section of the local newspaper (just keeping our
options open if we decide we can't take living in our small pad
anymore). We all drooled looking at the open space, kitchen, and
tropical lagoon type swimming pool it had (complete with surrounding
palm trees). Sure would be nice to live in, but we can hopefully hold
on a few more days until we get word from the U.S. government (In-town
housing board) as to where they would upgrade us to. We get to submit a
request to be moved because of Momma being pregnant and expecting an
increase in family size. However, if they give us something and we
don't like it, we can reject it, but then we can never request a move
again (unless Momma gets pregnant a third time). Tis not a very
flexible environment. Funny that the Government of Australia folks get
to look and choose a house from any vacant abode existing, but not us.
However, our folks don't want to have any discrimination in any way (at
least that's their justification for doing things the way they do).
Still doesn't make any sense to us.
So after checking out the house, we went to the annual Steiner School
Autumn Fair to support a local privately run community school. Logan was
mesmerized by all the people and enjoyed seeing all the stalls and
booths of things for sale or crafts to do... as well as goodies, like
cookies, to eat. Logan held a cuddly rabbit and kissed it and got his
name written in Chinese. We all sat and listened while eating
vegetarian dahl and curry to the school kids play music.
In the afternoon after his nap, Logan, Mom, and Dad went to the Simpsons
Gap Bike Path and rode along it for about 6 kms, stopping at a nice
picnic area for a snack. Logan sure does seem to be enjoying sitting on
the bike seat directly behind Daddy rather than down lower in the bike
trailer. Dad and Mom think this is because they too remember really
loving to ride up high on a bike seat when they were kids.
Logan is combining words more and more, saying "My this or My that", and
"I want this" or "I want that" or "Please give me such and such" etc....
