Our friend's son, Alex V., was bit by a western brown snake
when they were out star gazing (Jan 28). Alex had been out of the
car for no more than 30 seconds as he went from the front to
the back of the car to climb up the ladder onto the roof to
stargaze. When he got home he complained his leg was sore.
There were two parallel scratches which his Dad suspected
was a snake bite. They went into the hospital and were told
that it was probably nothing (and the doctor said they could
go home!) His dad pressed for more tests and said that he'd
like his son to stay in the hospital. Sure enough, the tests came
back positive for snake venom. After two doses of antivenom
Alex recovered just fine and was running around two days later.
This is Logan's get well drawing for Alex. It's the first "person"
he's ever drawn.
