Adventures in Alice

Tony is off at the moment with two of his buddies doing a two-day backpacking trek on a rugged stretch of the Larapinta Trail a couple of hours from town (I’d have loved to have gone, but am carrying my own little front-pack!).  So, in the meantime, Logan and I went to the “Henley-on-Todd” Regatta – the river-boat races we have here in Alice Springs.  Of course, since the Todd River is dry… the boats have no bottoms and people carry them as they race to the finish!  We saw the parade of boats this morning.  Logan was excited especially when they tossed lollies to the kids!  He ate his first lollipop and immediately asked for “more lollies” when that was done!  Depending on how the afternoon goes, we may try to go to the big gun-boat battle later this afternoon after Logan’s nap.  For a small, isolated little city/town – there’s an amazing number of parades and special events held here!!
